Rev. Baden Stanley

Rector

Baden has been our Rector (Priest) since January 1998. He has a passion for storytelling, pastoral care and bringing people closer to God. He and his wife Avril have three children: Jonathan, Luke and Bethany. Avril is involved in many aspects of parish life and ministry, with a particular focus on children and youth. She leads our Milkshake Club and The Shack.

David Reynolds

Diocesan Reader

David has been a member of our parish for over 40 years. He has served in many roles, including 25 years as the Secretary of the Select Vestry. More recently, he has been our Diocesan Lay Reader and brings a great depth of thought and attention to detail to our preaching team.

John Morris

Music Director

For over 10 years, John has brought his talent and passion to the role of Music Director, leading the Senior and Junior Choirs in our worship each Sunday.

Tracey Kerr

Parish Administrator

Tracey has been our Parish Administrator for the past three years. Her efficiency, commitment and kindness is greatly appreciated by all.

Glebe Wardens: George Wilkin & Jim O’Connor

Every Anglican Parish has a home that is used by its Rector and their family. This property is often called the Rectory, but is officially called the “Glebe” as historically Glebes were attached to significant amounts of land that the Rector could farm to feed and fund his family.

Christ Church Bray is very fortunate to have are two Glebe Wardens, whose primary responsibility is to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Rectory. George was appointed by the Rector and Jim was elected by the congregation.

Secretary to the Select Vestry: Declan Ryan

This position, also refereed to as Honorary Secretary, is one of the Parish’s senior appointments. The Secretary of the Select Vestry prepares documentation for the monthly meeting, records the minutes and when the emerging charity regulations kick in, will effectively assume the role of the Company Secretary.

We are fortunate to have the skills and experience of Declan Ryan, who also serves as Company Secretary for St Michael’s House, a charity that serves children and adults with disabilities.

Honorary Treasurer: Joe Roe

Most parishes are effectively small businesses with significant turnover. The position of Honorary Treasurer is critical to ensuring financial activities and governance are conducted with integrity. Joe Roe has been our Treasurer for the past 10 years and has done extraordinary work in digitising and maintaining our records.

Sidespersons: Catherine Boyd, June Robinson, Joe Long & Alan Mulligan

In recent years a team of Sidespersons has been established to provide relief to our Wardens. Members of our team have served as Church Wardens in the past and support the current Wardens when they cannot be at church.

Our current Sidespersons are Catherine Boyd, June Robinson, Joe Long and Alan Mulligan.

Property Team

With three of our parish buildings listed as Grade One protected structures, and a variety of buildings and land to steward, the property team works to ensure that all our properties are well maintained, appropriately insured and developed in accordance with the ethos and needs of the Parish. Our properties are held in stewardship to ensure income for maintenance and to support our ministry costs.

Our Property Team assumes a range of responsibilities from minor maintenance to major refurbishment. Chaired by Jim O’Connor, its members are George Wilkin, Albert Hill, Arthur Fortune, Nicola Gray, Jason Warnock and Andrew McCleane.

Communications Team

At a time of rapid change we are working hard to make sure that our communications within the Parish and to those further afield are up-to-date and accessible. As we update our database in line with GDPR requirements and move to digital communications platforms, our Communications Team is involved with maintaining our online presence, including our website and social media accounts, as well as our newly digitised Parish magazine

Our Communications team is comprised of Tracey Kerr, Linda Jones, Michele McNerney, Sile Ryan and the Rector.

Finance Team

As the implications of the Charity Regulatory Authority become clear, we are developing a Finance Team to support the Treasurer in all aspects of our financial practice and governance.

Our Finance Team currently includes our Treasurer, Joe Roe and our Administrator, Tracey Kerr.

Fundraising Team

On average we run eight to 12 fundraising events each year. While some events are straight-forward, others require a huge commitment from a large number of parishioners. Our Fundraising Team plans and runs these events with the help of volunteers. Our intention is always to involve as many people as possible and we greatly appreciate the time and commitment given by so many.
Our core Fundraising Team includes Linda Jones, Hilary Salmon, Michele McNerney and Annemarie McCleane.

Safeguarding Trust Team

Our Safeguarding Panel has been established in line with the Anglican Church of Ireland’s policies for protecting children and adults from all forms of abuse. The Panel works to maintain a safe and inclusive environment and ensure the healthy participation of all members of the Christ Church Bray community.
Our Safeguarding Panel includes William Mansfield, Ann Pearson and the Rector.

Worship Team

Much preparation and planning goes into our weekly services so it is not unusual for us to be looking at services six months ahead even as we are preparing for the next Sunday’s form of worship. Our worship team currently consists of the Musical Director, the Diocesan Reader and The Rector, although we are hoping to widen the membership of this team as we develop our All Age Gathering Services.
